All Lay Speaker Training events are required to be 10 hours in duration. During the last training event, Laity meeting with District Superientendent, Clegry meeting with Disrtict Superintendent, and the District Conference a survey ballet was submitted to all lay speakers present, laity in general, and clergy to determine how the 10 hours was to be devided. The overwhelming majority voted to have training on two consecutive Saturdays.
Because of this decision, Lay Speaker events will be held once each year in April or May after all Charge Conferences have been completed. If ou are new, or renewing you lay speaker status, you MUST attend both sessions to meet criteria to be used as a lay speaker. Please share this information with others in your church or charge as all do not have access to the internet.

We are looking to go paperless in our Lay Speaker registration and other communications. For those without email, you will still get snail mail a littler longer. However, with free internet available and access through friends and other sources, mailings will cease regarding class registration and information beginning Jan 2009. Information will stillbe included in the District quarterly newsletter and clander. Check back for more information on our next event to be held in April or May.
